How to Use the Height Comparison Tool
The Heightmog height comparison visualizer lets you place up to six people side by side on a shared baseline, rendered as proportional silhouettes. To get started, enter your height in the first card — either in feet and inches or centimeters — then add a second person to compare against. You can type any height manually, or use the celebrity quick-add to instantly compare yourself to athletes, actors, musicians, and more.
The visual scales all silhouettes proportionally so the difference is immediately apparent at a glance. Hovering over any silhouette shows the exact height difference between that person and the first person in the list. The baseline stays fixed, so taller silhouettes simply extend higher — just like standing next to someone in real life.
When you're happy with your comparison, click "Copy link" to get a shareable URL. The URL encodes all names and heights in the query string — no account needed, no data stored. Share it on TikTok, send it in a group chat, or bookmark it for later. The comparison opens instantly for anyone who clicks the link.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the height comparison tool work?
Enter the name and height for each person (up to 6 total). The tool renders proportional SVG silhouettes on a shared baseline so you can instantly visualize the height differences. Heights are stored in inches internally and automatically converted to feet/inches or centimeters based on your unit toggle. No data is sent to a server — all math runs in your browser.
How accurate are the celebrity heights?
Celebrity heights are sourced from Wikipedia (primary source) and official team/organization profiles (NBA.com, NFL.com, FIFA). Heights are stated in inches and cross-checked against multiple sources where possible. Note that some celebrities self-report their height, which can vary slightly from measured heights. We document our sources in comments in the code.
Can I share my height comparison?
Yes — after building your comparison, click 'Copy link' to generate a shareable URL. All comparison data (names and heights) is encoded directly in the URL query parameters, so the link works without any account or stored data. You can also click 'Share' to post directly to Twitter/X.
What is the maximum number of people I can compare?
You can compare up to 6 people simultaneously. Each person gets a unique color-coded silhouette. You can mix manual height entries with celebrity quick-adds.
How do I convert between feet/inches and centimeters?
Use the unit toggle (ft/in ↔ cm) at the top of the visualization panel. The tool automatically converts all heights and updates both the silhouettes and the displayed values. The formula is: 1 inch = 2.54 cm. So 6'0" = 72 inches = 182.88 cm.
Can I open a specific height comparison directly?
Yes — visit /compare/[height-a]-vs-[height-b] for any two heights. For example, /compare/5-10-vs-6-2 opens a pre-rendered 5'10" vs 6'2" comparison page. You can also open the interactive tool with any two heights pre-loaded via the URL, e.g., /tools/height-compare?p=You:70,Friend:74&unit=imperial.
